Christantus Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight passage to the knockout stages, especially following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
